It's official - the midlife crisis definitely exists and it's taken over Jomani Towers with a bang! The lure of the mid 30's and the fact we have an epic commute from the bedroom to the office has smacked us both in the face with a bang. That combined with my ability to pick up every bug under the sun and back to back infections has made us realise we need to move a bit more and eat more veggies. So today we've signed up to 90 Day Plan with the aim of toning up a bit and generally eating better.
For those of you that don't know what the 90 day plan involves - you give this guru some cash, answer a questionnaire on your lifestyle. The guru then works his magic and sends you a plan on what to eat alongside an exercise regime. For the first cycle (30 days) it involves 4 sessions of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) a week lasting about 30 minutes and what looks like a rather yummy meal plan. Basically the guru tells you what to eat and when to eat.
This won't be easy for either of us, I'm going to have to reduce how much tea I drink, and giving up the pie and chips (not sure how I feel about this..... ) But it also means eating more - snacks after HIIT sessions and extra bits here and there. Lets face it, who doesn't want permission to eat more food and indulge on scrambled egg with avocado for breakfast! This is definitely something I can live with.... "Hey love... you'll look hotter in a bikini if you eat more and just run on the spot a few times a week..... "
The funniest bit so far has been taking the before pictures. Whilst it should probably be a serious 5 minutes of grabbing the front, side and back pictures Dan and I just laughed our heads off then cringed a bit! Not sure I feel brave enough to post them - let's face it nobody wants to see Dan and I in our undies so I will save you the trauma on this. Maybe, we'll just show the after pictures when we resemble Barbie and Ken!
In the meantime, you will just have to put up with our random videos, blogs and pictures. So from Dan and I - sorry in advance - it will probably be annoying and wish us luck! We will need it....
